Artwork Guidelines/FAQ's

Please read the following artwork guidelines for our Custom Badges.
It will save time before submitting your designs after making an order.

What do I need to supply?

Just the artwork that you want to appear on the badge. I will do everything else and then deliver the finished button badges.

If you only have a logo, image or photo, I can crop it into a circular design and then add any text you require.

Will my artwork be suitable?

The badges can only be as good as the artwork supplied, so make sure your artwork takes into account the finished badge size.

TOP TIP... Intricate designs, too much text or small text do not usually look good on the finished badge.
TOP TIP... Black on white works better than white on black if your artwork contains fine lines or fine text.

If your artwork is unsuitable for a badge or is of poor quality, I will inform you and try to offer suggestions of how to improve it. If I'm unable to use your artwork I will offer you a refund rather than produce badges that will be poor quality.

Do not draw your own circle around your design - unless you want a circle to appear on your finished badge. I use cutters to cut the exact size and have my own template to work from. If you want to draw a circle as a guide send us two versions of the design - one with the circle and one without.

Please note: I do my best to match colours, the printing process may slightly alter some colours. Colours on a bright computer screen won't be exactly the same on a button badge.

How do I submit my artwork?

Send your artwork by email or post (postal address will be provided) email is my prefered option as it's quick and easy ([email protected])

Submitting a Photoshop image:

Your artwork should fit within a 25mm circle and ideally it needs to be at 300dpi.

If you want your design to bleed around the edge of the badge, add 5mm for bleed.

lease ensure your artwork is formatted for a PC.

(photoshop badge templates are available on request)

Submitting other images (tif, pdf, bmp, jpg):

I will resize your artwork here and will get better results if your artwork is larger than the actual badge size.

Make sure your artwork is high quality so that I can reduce it to the exact size required for the badge.

Please ensure your artwork is formatted for a PC.

Submitting your artwork on a CD:

Make sure your artwork is sized as above depending on the format.

Please ensure your artwork is formatted for a PC.

Submitting your artwork on paper:

I can produce badges by scanning letterheads, leaflets and artwork on paper, but remember the better the quality the artwork the better your button badges will look.

If you want your artwork cut out and used directly for the finished badge please remember to fit the artwork into the correct size.

If you are printing out your own artwork please ensure that you are using the best quality setting available and use high quality paper which is no larger than 115gsm.

Please make sure that your artwork is protected by a card backed envelope or stiff card, also mark the envelope "do not bend" to avoid any damage.

I haven't got a design, can you help?

If you do not have any finished artwork then send what you do have, for example a logo, a photo or an image and I will do my best to transform it into a badge.

I can then add any text you may want from a large selection of fonts, I will not charge any extra for simple designs.
